Synopsis

“Get a New Dream: The Dennis Walters Story” tells the story of an elite young golfer who is on his way to the PGA Tour.

After winning three New Jersey State Championships, securing a golf scholarship to college, and competing successfully with such players as U.S. Open Champions Andy North and Gary Player, Dennis was involved in a tragic golf cart accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Now a paraplegic, he was told by doctors he would never walk or play golf again. Dennis could accept the fact that he’d never walk again, but would not, and could not, accept the fact that he’d never play golf again.

Dennis Walters
From the depths of despair and depression, Dennis became determined to play golf. He worked hard to figure out a way to hit balls and play golf. With the help of his family, friends, and rescue dogs (he’s had five), he learned how to hit balls and play 18 holes of golf. He pioneered adaptive golf for people with disabilities. Eventually, he learned how to hit trick shots and has now given over 3000 shows around the world. He uses these shows as a vehicle to inspire people of all ages with (and without) disabilities. He has won countless awards for his inspirational work on and off the course.
In 2019, Dennis Walters was inducted into The World Golf Hall of Fame, nominated by two all-time golf greats, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. Narrated by Jim Nantz, this documentary tells the story of how Dennis Walters made one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.
